The Bright Eyed Daughters were originally set up to gain funding for a new illustrated guide to Hawick Common Riding, which could be used by pupils and teachers as a reference source for Hawick Callants Club & 1514 Club Common Riding competitions.
The result of funding meant Lesley Fraser & Judith Murray could produce the "Kids Guide to Hawick Common Riding" for P6 pupils and a pocket size "Illustrated Guide to Hawick Common Riding".
The "Kids Guides" proved such a success Lesley & Judith then simplified the books even more to come up with " My First Common Riding Book" for P1 pupils.
Thus far over 5000 books have been given away, and both books are on there second print run.
To mark the 500th Anniversary celebrations in 2014 "An Illustrated Translation of James Hogg's Teribus" was produced and given to pupils in P5, 6 & 7.

There is now a My First Hawick Common Riding Colouring Book, 2.50 each.

The books are available to buy at ILF Imaging, 2 Sandbed. Hawick, or to order a copy of either book please send a cheque made payable to Bright Eyed Daughters to:
